Complex Adult Health Clinical Judgment Exam (CJE) Relearning Assignment Guidelines Purpose
The relearning assignment is designed to support continued learning, developing critical thinking, and promoting clinical judgment skills throughout the pre-licensure BSN students’ education. The assignment will be completed based on student’s individual performance identified in the Strengths and Opportunities report following the course specific Clinical Judgment Exam (CJE). CJSim™(s), Adaptive Quizzing (EAQ), and Clinical Judgment Plan of Care Template(s) are completed based on the concept areas of greatest opportunity identified on students’ individual Strengths & Opportunities report. Students will add this assignment to the ePortfolio throughout the program.
Program outcomes:This assignment enables the student to meet the following outcomes:
- Provides individualized comprehensive care based on theories and principles of nursing and related disciplines to individuals, families, aggregates, and communities, from entry to the healthcare system through long-term planning.
- Demonstrates leadership and collaboration with consumers and other healthcare providers in providing care and/or delegating responsibilities for health promotion, illness prevention, health restoration, health maintenance, and rehabilitative activities.
- Integrates clinical judgment in professional decision making and implementation of the nursing process.

- Students will use the CJSim™ Unit Census document (found in the NurseThink portal) to identify appropriate clients to care for based on the CJE Strengths & Opportunities report.
- Students will care for the CJSim™ client as if they are caring for a living, breathing client. This includes a thorough review of the electronic health record (EHR).
- Students may retake CJSim™ cases until grade and time requirements have been met.
- Students will identify which CJSim™(s) they completed in the relearning agreement. Include the student name, concept, CJSim™ case title, date/time of completion, grade received on the CJSim™, and total time spent in the CJSim™.
- Students will complete the minimal number of CJSim™(s) required by the individual score level achieved on the CJE.

- Students will submit screenshot(s) of the mastery quiz completion showing required mastery level in the Canvas assignment submission area.
