Mrs Carla Lukos, 63 years old, lives at home with her husband. She has motor neurone disease and was diagnosed two years ago, and now requires assistance in her personal support needs. As a result of the disease, Carla has poor muscular control, particularly of the arms, and requires assistance when transferring, washing, toileting, dressing and grooming. She is able to weight bear for short periods, and uses an electric wheelchair as her main form of mobility.
